T.I.M.E. | LAS CRUCES, NEW MEXICO
[TEMPORARY INSTALLATIONS MADE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT]

Constructed from salvaged drapery fabric, this work is a monument to adaptive re-use. In keeping with the exhibition's theme, the form of the structure can be viewed as a metaphor for the many channels used to dispose of unwanted items. Alternately, it alludes to a knot, a symbol the linked action needed for local regeneration to occur on a large scale and also a problem to be solved. In particular, a tangle facing communities of the New West concerns accommodating future visions of growth in which resources are treated equitably.
